Who we Are
Citizen Impact Organization (CIO) is a Women-led Malawian Non-profit organization that was founded in April 2018 by Chimwemwe Banda who is a gender equality activist (Feminists).
Our History
The organization was formally established on 13th March 2021. It is located in Luwinga, Mzuzu City. The organization works in areas of Gender Equality, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), Menstrual Health Hygiene (MHM) advocacy, Girls’ Education Empowerment, Youth Empowerment , Human rights, and Career Guidance, Disability rights, Women and Youth Entrepreneurship and Skills Development.

Our Key Area of Focus
Sexual Reproductive and Health Rights
We address burning issues to do with Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and Mental Health by providing evidence-based expertise to them on how to, among other things, use contraceptives to safeguard their life as well as their constitutional rights in accessing health reproductive services
Skills Development and Entrepreneurship
We enhance skills in sports and arts by providing an ideal platform where youths can interact and shape their skills to their full potential
Gender Equality and Human Rights
We foster a gender equality environment for all people regardless of sex, tribe, race as well as religion as we bear in mind that gender equality is key to socio-economic development.
